Student Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH) 2022-2026
- Participated in mission trips to Belmopan, Belize and Salinas, Ecuador to provide free eye care services and glasses for people in underserved populations who do not have access to local eye care. Collectively helped over 1,000 patients and dispensed more than 1,000 pairs of glasses and sunglasses.
- Partnered with various Lions’ Clubs and organized educational presentations to help fundraise for the trip. Fundraised by participating in bake sales, silent auctions, and dogsitting. Spent 30 hours each year fundraising.
- Managed glasses donations by sorting, cleaning, and organizing them, and enhanced lensometry skills by reading each pair of glasses with lensometry. Spent 30 hours each year on lab organization.
