  • Clinical Intern
    • Completed clinical rotations in various specialties, including primary care, cornea and contact lens, ocular disease, pediatrics, vision therapy, low vision, nursing home, and surgical. Successfully managed the needs of over 200 patients in these roles under staff doctor supervision. 
    • Participated in weekly optical rotations, gaining experience in optical fitting, dispensing, optical lab processes, and pediatric optical care. Successfully managed over 70 patients in this role under optician supervision. 
    • Enhanced optometric technician skills by utilizing various technology platforms, including Spectralis and Cirrus OCT, fundus autofluorescence, Humphrey visual fields, Optos and Eidon fundus photography.

Student Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity (SVOSH)      2022-2026

  • Participated in mission trips to Belmopan, Belize and Salinas, Ecuador to provide free eye care services and glasses for people in underserved populations who do not have access to local eye care. Collectively helped over 1,000 patients and dispensed more than 1,000 pairs of glasses and sunglasses.
  • Partnered with various Lions’ Clubs and organized educational presentations to help fundraise for the trip. Fundraised by participating in bake sales, silent auctions, and dogsitting. Spent 30 hours each year fundraising.
  • Managed glasses donations by sorting, cleaning, and organizing them, and enhanced lensometry skills by reading each pair of glasses with lensometry. Spent 30 hours each year on lab organization.
